Caroline and Rhett Cincinnati Wedding Photography

I photographed Caroline's sister, Stephanie's wedding last year and totally fell in love with her family.  I have honestly never worked with a more caring group of people.  I was so excited when I found out I would get to hang out with them again at Caroline and Rhett's wedding.  Caroline is absolutely gorgeous, both inside and out.  It wasn't hard to take her picture because all she did all day was smile (unless I was forcing her to give me a serious look).  She and Rhett live in Tennessee.  They had family from all over the country come to Cincinnati to help them celebrate their love.  What a party!  Caroline and Rhett, thank you so much for the opportunity to spend such a wonderful day with your friends and family.  It's a little bittersweet knowing there are no more sisters in the family for me to photograph.  :) I will miss you guys!!Ft. Thomas Florist blew me away once again with their creativity.  I adore the cotton ball inspired boutonnieres.Pineapple wedding shoes, yes!!

Rhett is known for his bow ties.  I love that a lot of the guests at the wedding wore them. Love this one of Rhett's sister and grandfather cutting loose on the dance floor. :)Sisters.

Love+Bash

Sunday was a proud day for me, I had a smile plastered on my face all day long.   I still cant believe Jen and I did it.  We came up with the idea for Love+Bash 6 months ago and Sunday we made it happen.  We couldn't have done it without the help of some of the most kick ass wedding vendors, hair stylists, make-up artists, stylists, and models in the city.   Our goal was for all of these creative people to showcase their work in a setting where the sky was the limit.  They took it to the moon!  I  am so thankful for all of the amazing people who helped us create such a spectacular event.  Everyone brought it and everyone should feel as proud as I do.  I also want to thank everyone who came.  It was great to meet so many new people and to also see so many of my clients and friends there.  I wasn't able to get very many pictures, I was so busy and my hands were shaking from nerves.  Luckily Andrew Ducker Photography was there to document the day for us.  Thanks Andrew!  Head over to the Love+Bash website to see his pictures.

Brooch Bouqets, I Dig them!

I was first introduced to the brooch bouquet by one of my future bride's, Emily.  WOW!  What a great idea.  They are so beautiful and unique.  No more asking yourself what to do with your bouquet once the wedding is over.   This a piece of art you can keep in your house.  You can incorporate your something new,  something old, something borrowed , and something blue all in your bouquet by getting all of the women in the family to contribute a piece.  Why not make it an heirloom that gets passed down for generations?  If you plan it out early enough just think of all of the fun flea market adventures you can have in search of the perfect pieces. :)

Here are a few examples I found on the web.

These are by Fantasy Floral Designs. Photography credit:Alice Hu.

You find this bouquet here.

It is also very pretty to use both the brooches and a few flowers.

I  found a very good DIY tutorial on making your own brooch bouquet over at FantsyPantsWeddings.

A Little Taste of Heaven

Vintage style wedding dresses are so hot right now.  The ruffles, the lace, I just love how feminine and sweet they are.   Here are a couple I found on Wedding Inspirasi designed by  Temperlay London.  You can definitely see the vintage influences.   I found these gorgeous, vintage dresses on Etsy and A Vintage Wedding, most are well under $500.

Below is my Favorite!

Margie and Joey Kentucky Wedding Photographer

Margie is a total sweetheart.  She always has a beautiful smile on her face and will greet you with a hug and a sincere compliment.  She and I have been friends for years, every time I am around her it is a good time.  When I first met Joey he greeted me with a warm smile almost as big as Margie's.  He is a real gentleman.  They compliment each other well.  I had a wonderful time with the two of them on their wedding day.

Margie and Joey's ceremony and reception were held at Riverside Garden's in Dayton, Ky.  I love this venue.  It is right on the Ohio River and it is loaded with character and charm.

Margie looked amazing.Ft Thomas Florist did a great job with Margie's flowers. This is one of Joey's nieces.  I like how she and Joey share the same dimples. I love the next two images. :)Their cake is by My Lil' Bakeshop in Maysville.

Jessica and Craig Cincinnati Wedding Photographer

Couples always snicker when they tell me they met in a bar.  I think it is great! What better place to meet?   When you go out,  you are all dolled up, you are surrounded by your friends, you are relaxed, you are having fun.  You are you at your best.  And yes, the alcohol does help with nerves and hesitation.  ;)  When you meet the person you are meant to spend your life with I don't think it matters where you are.  The chemistry is there.  You know when it feels right and to deny that because of where it happened would be a tragedy.  Jessica and Craig met in a bar and a couple of years later they met again at the altar.

Jessica is a little shy, having so much attention on her on her wedding day took a little getting used to.  She had a great group of girls around her to keep her calm and relaxed.  Jessica and Craig saw each other for the first time when Jessica's very proud father walked her down the gorgeous aisle of St. John's Church.  It was amazing to witness.  When Craig took Jessica's hand and walked her up the alter I could see all of Jessica's shyness go away, her smile lit up the church.  Craig was her strength.

I had a wonderful time with Jessica, Craig and all of their family and friends, who traveled from 18 states and as far as Amsterdam to witness their love story.  Thanks for sharing in this special day! :)

Jessica and the girls started at Mi Salon in Florence for hair and makeup..

Christin and Harold

To me one of the best compliments to your work in any profession is to be referred by a colleague.  I was beyond ecstatic when I was contacted by a fellow photographer about Christin and Harold's wedding.  He was already booked on their date.  He saw my work through a friend on Facebook and was wondering if I was available.  "What?  Me? "I thought to myself, I was flattered beyond belief.  I got Christin's contact information and after a long phone conversation with her we met for coffee and clicked right away.  She has one of those personalities that makes you feel like you have been friends forever, very comforting.  As we went over the details of her day I knew it was going to be beyond beautiful.  She and Harold had been planning this wedding for many years so she was well prepared.

There were so many things I fell in love with at this wedding starting with all of the beautiful red-headed women.  Christin, her mother Sindy, and her sister Autumn are all smoking hot red heads.  I can't explain why, nor do I need to, but I was really excited about this!

Next I loved the locations we used for photos.  We started at Cloud 9 Salon in Florence, which Christin's mother owns.  The stylist and makeup artists were great and the salon is a beautiful backdrop for photos.  Sindy did a wonderful job on Christin's hair and make up for the wedding.  Sindy's house, where the girl's got ready, has a lake and a beautiful greenery so we used that as a backdrop for Christin's bridal portraits and pictures with her girls.  For Chrisin and Harold's portraits I scouted out a location near the church.  It was a beautiful farm with fruit trees, and an old barn on it, perfect for a quick, private bride and groom session.

I had such a great time at this wedding.  From the moment I walked into the salon with the girls I was greeted with big smiles and hugs, I love that!   Thanks Christin and Harold and  all of your family for being so gracious.  It was wonderful spending the night surrounded by so much love.  Thanks for allowing me to capture these special moments for you!

Sindy, Chrisin's mother did Chrisin's hair and makeup for the wedding.  Here she is with Christin having a beautiful mother/daughter moment. This was my first time working with a videographer at a wedding, it was fun.  This is Mario from Frameline Productions, he was a pleasure to work with.  If you are looking for a great videographer for your wedding, he is your man! I love this! This is Christin and Harold's daughter Adalyn.Right before the ceremony.   Look how Christin and Autumn do the same scrunchy thing with their noses when they laugh.:) The gorgeous girls! Their red hair looks so great with that green background. We only had 15 minutes to shoot their portraits after the wedding.  That is all we needed with this beautiful light. Their beautiful reception was held at the Madison South in Covington. A very sweet father, daughter, granddaughter dance.:) This is my favorite photo of the day.  I grabbed this image  right as they were headed into the reception.  I love everything about it, the color, the look, the location, Christin's beautiful hair.  (Sindy is good! ) Adalyn and Grandma Parker were literally the last two on the dance floor that night.  My kind of ladies.
